Ashford Memphis LP, which is affiliated with Dallas-based Ashford Hospitality Trust, bought the 232-room hotel, located at Poplar and I-240, from Noble I Memphis LLC, according to a Feb. 25 warranty deed. The purchase price breaks down to roughly $139,655 per room.

A Dallas-based hotel real estate investment trust has acquired the Marriott Memphis East hotel in East Memphis for $32.4 million.

Ashford Memphis LP, which is affiliated with Dallas-based Ashford Hospitality Trust, bought the 232-room hotel, located at Poplar and I-240, from Noble I Memphis LLC, according to a Feb. 25 warranty deed. The purchase price breaks down to roughly $139,655 per room.

The property, formerly home to Sullivan Branding after cs2 and Thompson & Co. merged, is strategically located on the north side of Union between South Lauderdale Street and Danny Thomas Boulevard.

28. EDGE Approves Ikea Incentives -

Swedish furniture retailer Ikea has been awarded an 11-year tax break to develop a $64 million store near Interstate 40 and Germantown Parkway that is expected to employ 175 people.

The board of the city-county Economic Development Growth Engine on Wednesday, Jan. 21, approved the controversial payment-in-lieu-of-taxes incentive on an 8-1 vote. Larry Jackson voted against the measure.
