A Knoxville-based hospitality company has closed on the purchase of the vacant Greyhound facility Downtown and will transform the property into a Hilton Garden Inn.

Turkey Creek Hospitality completed the $1.7 million purchase of the 1.3-acre property Tuesday, March 18, and will bring a 140-room Hilton Garden Inn to the heart of Downtown Memphis. Hank Martin and Elliot Embry with NAI Saig Co. represented Greyhound Lines Inc. in the transaction.

Memphis-based Zellner Construction received an award for the Memphis Area Transit Authority airport facility the company built.

Zellner was awarded the American Institute of Architects Gulf States Honor Citation for the project at the corner of Brooks and Airways near Memphis International Airport. The $15.8 million, 30,000-square-foot MATA station houses MATA and Greyhound Lines.

The Memphis Area Transit Authority was issued a $9.1 million permit by the city-county Office of Construction Code Enforcement for its South Intermodal Terminal at 3033 Airways Blvd. near Memphis International Airport.

The Memphis Area Transit Authority has reached another milestone in the development of its South Intermodal Terminal near Memphis International Airport.

Months after clearing structures off the 9-acre site, MATA has filed a $10 million building permit for the 29,000-square-foot facility at 3033 Airways Blvd., at the intersection of Airways and Brooks Road.
