1. Frayser Apartments Again Bought Out of Foreclosure -

An entity called MRC Memphis LLC has paid $1.2 million for the Whitney Manor and Frayser Manor apartment complexes in Frayser, following a foreclosure of the properties.

Last week we highlighted Juvenile Intervention & Faith-based Follow-up (JIFF), which is working with youth from in and around the juvenile justice system to equip them with the skills and support necessary to break the destructive cycle of criminal behavior. Last week we talked about the nation’s most common cause of disability, arthritis, and examined how we can help the Arthritis Foundation. This week let us look at an organization helping adolescents and adults fight drug and alcohol addiction, Memphis Recovery Centers.

7. Business Showcase on the Way -

This year's Memphis Business Showcase marks a huge milestone for minority businesses in the Mid-South. The 2006 showcase has two minority-owned businesses as sponsors, a first since the inception of the Minority Marketplace - now a part of the Memphis Business Showcase - almost 20 years ago.
