In November of 1989, Aerosmith released its hit song “Janie’s Got a Gun.” The song, as the title implies, took a direct route to the issue of child abuse.
Now Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, who co-wrote the song, has announced a partnership with nonprofit Youth Villages in Memphis: “Janie’s Fund” will have the goal of providing trauma-informed care and experiential therapies to girls who have histories of being abused and/or neglected.

The Memphis City Council delayed a vote Tuesday, Sept. 15, on an appeal of a two-lot subdivision at the northeast corner of Williamsburg Lane and Village Road.

On the one hand, sources have confirmed that either Village Roadshow Pictures Group or a division of that company is interested in opening a major operation in Memphis, an undertaking that would include building a soundstage and production offices. Village Roadshow, in turn, would spend $250 million on productions in the city over a five-year period.
