His home is in the shadow of the National Cathedral, and I strolled up the hill for another pilgrimage – a bit of reflection among the 231 stained glass windows, a quiet moment shared with the 288 angels, and a chuckle or two under the gaze of the 112 gargoyles and the power of the force from the figure of Darth Vader atop the west tower. Really. He’s up there.

6. Fred Sanders to Receive Beale Street Brass Note

Music legend Fred Sanders spent most of his days playing guitar in Memphis’ Handy Park.
As the house guitarist at the old Club Paradise, Sanders played alongside other Memphis music legends, including B.B. King, Bobby “Blue” Bland and Albert King. Sanders also played his music at Blues Alley on Front Street, leaving tourists in awe and was a particular favorite of traveling blues aficionados.

Chris Rosa has been named general manger of the Holiday Inn and Suites Memphis-Wolfchase. Rosa will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the property. He previously served as vice president of operations for Equity Estates, general manger at the Sheraton Meadowlands and area manger of the Crowne Plaza Ravinia in Atlanta. Rosa also has been named General Manager of the Year by Patriot American Hotels and Hotelier of the Year by the Connecticut Hospitality Association.
