Judy Sulton White has joined BankTennessee as a mortgage loan specialist. White has worked in the mortgage industry for 30 years and will focus on new-home financing options, mortgage refinances and custom construction loans.

5. Burton Promoted to PR Manager at inferno -

Ashley Burton has been promoted to public relations manager at inferno. Burton joined the agency in 2005 and most recently served as a public relations account executive.

6. Simpson Joins FirstBank As Local President -

Ted Simpson has been hired by FirstBank as its Memphis city president.

Simpson previously served as executive vice president and chief lending officer for Magna Bank and has experience with National Bank of Commerce and Central Park Capital. He also is currently on the board of Lambda Alpha, a real estate professional organization.

7. UTHSC’s Baselski Receives Professional Recognition Award -

Vickie S. Baselski, professor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, has been presented the 2008 American Society for Microbiology TREK Diagnostic ABMM/ABMLI Professional Recognition Award.

8. Kobernus Joins MAAR As Governmental Affairs Director -

Aubrie Rhodes Kobernus has joined Memphis Area Association of Realtors (MAAR) as governmental affairs director. Kobernus received a master's degree in business administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., in May 2006. While pursuing her degree, she interned with NeighborWorks America and New Century Financial Corp., focusing on the mortgage and housing industry.

9. Baptist Names College of Health Sciences President -

Baptist Memorial Health Care named Betty Sue McGarvey president of the Baptist College of Health Sciences. McGarvey recently served the college as provost and is a graduate of the Baptist School of Nursing. She was a nursing instructor for two years and was among the 10 founders of the Baptist College of Health Sciences.
