Seed Hatchery is Memphis’ high-growth tech startup accelerator and puts entrepreneurs through a 90-day boot camp, with a crash course in customer discovery, business development, go-to-market strategies and investor pitches. And this year’s cohort marks the third collection of founders to go through the program.

5. Local Music Veterans Form Consulting Company -

Two veterans of the local music scene recently launched a music promotion, consulting and booking company.

And that company, called Kangaroo, has a full slate of big projects in the works and a serious lineup of artists already on the company’s roster.

6. Live in Memphis -

Memphis’ “Live at the Garden” summer concert series may soon have a permanent stage structure to call home.

One more place, among many in Memphis, to enjoy the sound of music.

7. Outward Sound -

Over the next several months, Memphis music lovers will be outdoors frequently in anticipation of good company, a relaxing evening and great tunes.

And performers of all stripes and levels of success – from storytellers to Southern guitar gods to an orchestra pumping out the swinging sounds of the 1930s – will be on deck to give them all that and more.

8. 'On Fire' -

The day after her Feb. 16 concert in Memphis at Minglewood Hall, the frontwoman for Grace Potter and the Nocturnals let her Twitter followers know how much she enjoyed herself.

9. Keep the Music Playing -

Ardent Studios has jumped into the fray of creative types by using Kickstarter, a website that allows users to raise money.

The legendary Memphis recording studio has started a campaign to pay for its Ardent Sessions, an online video series in which artists perform live in the studio.

10. Busy Hurley Finds Signature a ‘Great Place to Be’ -

When Rachel Hurley came into Signature Advertising & Marketing Solutions for a job interview, it was for the position of traffic manager – the person who keeps projects on track and moving forward.

11. Bloodworth Honored With Lifetime Achievement Award -

Russell Bloodworth, executive vice president of Boyle Investment Co., has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Memphis Chapter of Lambda Alpha International, the land economics society.

A little more than halfway through the set his band recorded on a recent night at Ardent Studios for a new Internet radio show, vocalist Ben Davis gave audience members in the room something they wanted besides music. In between songs, he shared a few stories from the road.
