8. Former Employees Sue Cargill For $3M in Damages -

A group of former and current Cargill Inc. employees has filed a $3 million federal lawsuit against the Minneapolis, Minn.-based company claiming they've been subjected to a hazardous work environment, racial discrimination and retaliation.

9. Mayor Herenton's Executive Assistant Moves to MLGW -

Gale Jones Carson has been named director of corporate communications for Memphis Light, Gas & Water Division. In her new executive-level position, she will report directly to MLGW president and CEO Joseph Lee III. She previously was executive assistant to Memphis Mayor Willie Herenton.

10. Estate Planning Council Elects Officers -

The Memphis Estate Planning Council announced the following officers for 2005-2006: David B. Jones, president; Frank E. Davis, vice president; Jeffrey E. Thompson, secretary; James L. Ferguson Jr., treasurer; and Mike Wood, immediate past president. Other executive committee members are Kermit B. Kaiser, Leanne W. McCullough, Samuel N. Graham and Teresa R. Hurst.
