MEMPHIS (AP) – The telegram sent by Elvis Presley to his parents in November 1954 gives a glimpse into the young singer's priorities and his optimism, as he begins what will become a career as a rock 'n' roll icon and cultural phenomenon.

MEMPHIS (AP) – An executive with the company that purchased Elvis Presley's intellectual property says it is discussing ways to expand the late rock and roll icon's brand and upgrades to the Graceland tourist attraction.

3. Elvis’ Intellectual Property Rights Sold -

Authentic Brands Group, a New York City intellectual property corporation, has bought Elvis Presley’s intellectual property and the right to operate Graceland from CORE Media Group, becoming the latest of four companies to own a majority share in the intellectual property assets of the late Memphis entertainer.

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center will host Line Dancing for BLUES, in recognition of Infant Mortality Awareness Month, on Tuesday, Sept. 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the student alumni center, 800 Madison Ave. The event will include a line dance-a-thon, and information on infant mortality and the BLUES Project. Air medical transport service Hospital Wing has consolidated its operations under one roof with a $1.2 million renovation and expansion of its headquarters near Downtown Memphis.

Each August, thousands of Elvis Presley fans make their annual pilgrimage to Graceland to pay homage to the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

MEMPHIS (AP) – Elvis Presley Enterprises says three new exhibits will open next year at Graceland in Memphis to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the entertainer's death.

The first exhibit looks at the 1972 documentary "Elvis on Tour," which chronicles a multi-city concert tour. The exhibit, which opens Jan. 5, will include jewelry and clothing worn by Elvis during the shows.

Except for his seven years in school, Blanchard Tual, partner with Tual Graves PLLC, has been in Memphis all his life. So it’s no surprise that he’s represented Memphis icons. He served as Lisa Marie Presley’s guardian ad litem and represented Isaac Hayes posthumously. And it is fitting that he should serve on the boards of prominent Memphis organizations such as the Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association, Porter-Leath and the Levitt Shell, as well as serving in the past on the board of the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art.
