Gyasi C. Chisley has joined Methodist North Hospital as CEO. In his new role, Chisley will lead thousands of associates and aligned and contracted medical staff. He says that as health care transitions from volume to value, his platform is to grow outpatient practices, physicians and services while creating a viable patient-centered environment.

2. Weddle-West Voted GRE Board Chair-Elect -

Dr. Karen Weddle-West, dean of the graduate school, vice provost for academic affairs and director of diversity initiatives at the University of Memphis, has been voted chair-elect of the GRE (Graduate Record Examination) Board. The national board establishes all policies for the GRE program, the most widely used graduate-school admissions test, and oversees GRE assessments, services and research.

3. LeSaint Logistics Leases Space Near Airport -

LeSaint Logistics LLC is entering the Memphis market, having recently leased 57,285 square feet at 3300 Jet Cove.

4. Memphis Pride Signs Lease At Trinity Ridge -

An up-and-coming Mid-South cheer and tumbling company has signed a new lease to expand its business, a move that will benefit the facility’s students and parents alike.

Memphis Pride is relocating from a 5,000-square-foot space in Cordova Industrial Park to 16,080-square-foot lease at 7740 B Trinity Road, suite 126.

6. Judicial Nominating Commission Seeks Leader -

The state commission that recommends finalists for judicial vacancies has a vacancy of its own.

Bill Young of Chattanooga is acting chairman of the Judicial Nominating Commission following the resignation of former JNC Chairman David Bautista of Johnson City.

The Memphis Music Resource Center will celebrate its first birthday during the South Main Art Trolley Tour today from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 431 S. Main St. The free celebration will include live music, food and drinks.

Liese Leonard recently joined the Madison Hotel as director of sales.

Leonard is responsible for overseeing all internal and external sales efforts for the hotel including developing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts and supervising all sales and catering associates.

WASHINGTON (AP) - For years, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles have been the far-off technological bets of the auto industry – the car that holds the promise of gasoline-free driving.

Honda Motor Co. is starting to give a small number of drivers a glimpse into the future.

11. Harmon Receives Pro Bono Award -

Whitney Harmon, an attorney at Glankler Brown PLLC, has received the first Frank J. Glankler Jr. Pro Bono Award.

Glankler Brown committed this year to taking a minimum of 35 pro bono cases each year from Memphis Area Legal Services, an organization that provides legal assistance for people unable to afford representation. Harmon practices in the area of civil litigation and is a member of the American, Tennessee, Kentucky and Memphis Bar Associations, as well as the Association for Women Attorneys.

12. Perrin to Oversee Orpheum's Fundraising Efforts, Special Events -

The Orpheum Theatre announced Jim Perrin has been named vice president of development. Perrin previously served as the president of Junior Achievement of Memphis & the Mid-South Inc. In his new position, he will oversee the Orpheum's fundraising efforts, special events and other projects.
