At least from a regulatory perspective, the fog is starting to lift on what the next several years will bring in the way of employment law changes and updates.
With that in mind, the labor and employment law firm of Fisher & Phillips LLP is hosting two separate hour-long webinars this month for employers to get a sense of what change might be on the horizon. Jeff Weintraub is among what might be one of the few third-generation lawyer families in Memphis.
His father Sam made a name for himself in labor and employment law in this area after coming out of World War II. He attended Georgetown and then was sent to Memphis by the National Labor Relations Board to open a field office before leaving that to start his own firm.

Dishmon Joins UT Medical Group -

Dr. Dwight “Dan” Dishmon has joined the Department of Medicine at UT Medical Group.
Dishmon is an interventional cardiologist and cares for adults with ischemic heart disease and peripheral arterial disease.
He earned his medical degree and completed his internal medicine residency and general cardiology fellowship training at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He later completed additional fellowship training at Michigan State University’s Borgess Medical Center.

Whitney Harmon, an attorney at Glankler Brown PLLC, has received the first Frank J. Glankler Jr. Pro Bono Award.
Glankler Brown committed this year to taking a minimum of 35 pro bono cases each year from Memphis Area Legal Services, an organization that provides legal assistance for people unable to afford representation. Harmon practices in the area of civil litigation and is a member of the American, Tennessee, Kentucky and Memphis Bar Associations, as well as the Association for Women Attorneys.
