WASHINGTON (AP) - Consumer spending was stagnant in April while incomes posted a tiny advance, signs that the economic recovery could slow.
The flat spending level was the weakest showing in seven months, according to the U.S. Commerce Department report. Personal incomes rose 0.4 percent, in line with expectations but not fast enough to help generate real growth.
