Shelby County Chancellor Kenny W. Armstrong and Memphis attorney Dorothy Pounders were among three finalists for an upcoming vacancy on the Tennessee Court of Appeals recommended Thursday, Nov. 14, to Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam.

3. 3 Memphians Among State Supreme Court Applicants -

Two Memphis judges and a Shelby County Commissioner are among the five applicants for a vacancy on the Tennessee Supreme Court.

Criminal Court Judge Chris Craft, Tennessee Court of Appeals Judge Holly M. Kirby and Shelby County Commissioner Steve Mulroy have submitted applications to the Governor’s Commission on Judicial Appointments, the newly formed body that will send a list of three finalists to Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam.

4. Justices, AWA Celebrate 30 Years Of Women in Law -

The Association for Women Attorneys is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and in a commemoration of the goals women in the law have achieved, the organization Tuesday hosted the three female Tennessee Supreme Court justices – Chief Justice Janice M. Holder, Justice Cornelia A. Clark and Justice Sharon G. Lee – at a continuing legal education seminar at the Memphis Botanic Garden.

5. Green Receives Bar's Lawyer's Lawyer Award -

Memphis lawyer Robert L. "Bob" Green of Allen Summers Simpson Lillie & Gresham PLLC received the Judge Jerome Turner Lawyer's Lawyer Award at the Memphis Bar Association's 2005 annual meeting, held Dec. 1 at the Memphis Cook Convention Center.
