1. TVA Called On to Expand Solar Energy Program -

NASHVILLE (AP) – Energy firms and conservation groups are calling on the Tennessee Valley Authority to expand its small-scale solar energy program.

The federal utility launched the program about 10 years ago to boost the solar industry in Tennessee. It allows generators of solar power to connect to the electrical grid and sell back the power they produce at a higher-than-market rate.

3. Bartlett Office Building Sells for Close to $1M -

West Cermak Realty LLC of Maryland has bought the 15,000-square-foot office building at 5520 Shelby Oaks Drive in Bartlett for $960,000. The seller was Darren Metz, CEO of Nashville-based NovaCopy Inc., which operates one of its three locations in the building.

4. Methodist Director Elected President Of Tennessee Board of Pharmacy -

Sheila Mitchell, director of pharmacy services at Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital, has been elected president of the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy. Mitchell has worked for Methodist for more than 20 years. She is an assistant professor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center's College of Pharmacy and has served on several committees for the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy. The Tennessee House of Representatives honored her in 2002 for her local contributions to her field.

5. Armour Named CEO of Le Bonheur -

Meri Armour has been named president and chief executive officer of Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center. She previously worked as senior vice president and general manager of Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital in Cleveland. Armour holds a master's degree in nursing from Case Western Reserve University's Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing in Cleveland and a master's of business administration from Case Western Reserve's Weatherhead School of Management.
