1. Wealthy Business Executives Eye Political Races -

CHICAGO (AP) – He has never been elected to anything, not even "student council in high school," as he boasts. He has little patience for schmoozing. In dealing with people, he admits to being "pretty blunt" - more suited to running a large private equity firm, which Bruce Rauner did successfully for 30 years, than seeking votes for governor, which he intends to do in Illinois next year.

2. Iberiabank Relocates Cordova Bank Branch -

Iberiabank is moving its Cordova branch out from behind the shadow of a rival – literally.

The Iberiabank branch at 1605 Germantown Parkway is being relocated a little more than a mile south of that location into a vacant space formerly occupied by Trust One Bank, which closed several of its locations recently.

3. Rotarians Launch Midtown Club -

Midtown now has its own Rotary club.

The group, which has 26 members, is looking for others to join. They set their charter celebration for 6:30 p.m. Friday in a VIP tent at the Levitt Shell, where the club was scheduled to be recognized from the stage just before the 7:30 p.m. performance by The Dynamites.

4. Blockman Joins Keller Williams -

Harold Blockman has been named the new vice president & principal broker of the Memphis Central Market Center for Keller Williams Realty.

Blockman serves as director of the board of the Memphis Area Association of Realtors and was selected for the 2007 Community Service Award by MAAR. Blockman is also president of the Tennessee GRI Association and a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Club.

5. Kobernus Joins MAAR As Governmental Affairs Director -

Aubrie Rhodes Kobernus has joined Memphis Area Association of Realtors (MAAR) as governmental affairs director. Kobernus received a master's degree in business administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., in May 2006. While pursuing her degree, she interned with NeighborWorks America and New Century Financial Corp., focusing on the mortgage and housing industry.
