1. Study: Wiser Medication Use Could Cut Health Costs -

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — If doctors and patients used prescription drugs more wisely, they could save the U.S. health care system at least $213 billion a year, by reducing medication overuse, underuse and other flaws in care that cause complications and longer, more-expensive treatments, researchers conclude.

2. New Day Coming for Sears Crosstown Urban Village -

The historic Sears Crosstown building in Midtown Memphis is being redeveloped as a mixed-used vertical urban village, with nine “founding partners” in local health care, education and arts organizations that have signed on to occupy 600,000 square feet of the total 1.4 million square feet of space.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Embattled insurer American International Group Inc. said Tuesday it will reconfigure its board to include six new independent directors.

6. Harmon Receives Pro Bono Award -

Whitney Harmon, an attorney at Glankler Brown PLLC, has received the first Frank J. Glankler Jr. Pro Bono Award.

Glankler Brown committed this year to taking a minimum of 35 pro bono cases each year from Memphis Area Legal Services, an organization that provides legal assistance for people unable to afford representation. Harmon practices in the area of civil litigation and is a member of the American, Tennessee, Kentucky and Memphis Bar Associations, as well as the Association for Women Attorneys.
