DETROIT (AP) — An attorney representing Detroit urged a judge Wednesday to allow the city to fix staggering financial problems through bankruptcy, arguing that without it nearly 65 cents of every tax dollar eventually would be gobbled up by debts and other obligations.

3. Kramer Given Crystal Award by Carwash Association -

Bruce Kramer, an attorney with Apperson Crump PLC, has been given the Crystal Award by the International Carwash Association for his 20 years of service as the association’s general counsel. The association, which was started in Memphis in 1955, is comprised of 15,000 professional car wash operators, retailers and suppliers in 25 nations.

4. Wilde Play Gets Classic Treatment -

Good manners and a love of words mix for comic effect in Theatre Memphis’ upcoming production of Oscar Wilde’s most famous play, “The Importance of Being Earnest.”

For director Jerry Chipman, the play is both a step back into the past and another step out of his comfort zone.
