Memphis International Airport executives are planning to mark the one-year anniversary of the flooding of DeWitt Spain Airport in Frayser.
The airport was heavily damaged May 5 when a levee near the airfield broke as the Mississippi River and its tributaries reached their highest levels since 1937.

DeWitt Spain Airport Inundated With Water
General DeWitt Spain Airport was inundated with flood waters early Thursday morning. Reports said around midnight, part of a berm washed out as well as part of North Second Street, which had already been closed because of rising water. A broken water main contributed to the high water.
7. Dr. Lendel Joins Memphis Heart Clinic

Dr. Vasili Lendel has joined Memphis Heart Clinic. Lendel is board certified in internal medicine and cardiology. A native of Siberia, Lendel received the Russian Government Award for Academic Excellence. He did his cardiology fellowship at Penn State's medical center in Hershey, Penn., where he received the Chief Cardiology Fellow award.
