1. End of Windows XP Support Spells Trouble for Some -

NEW YORK (AP) – Microsoft will end support for the persistently popular Windows XP on Tuesday, and with an estimated 30 percent of businesses and consumers still using the 12-year-old operating system, the move could put everything from the operations of heavy industry to the identities of everyday people in danger.

When Nicole Phillippe, of Memphis, decided to take a leap of faith and open an art gallery, the first thing she did was break the rules.

“Everyone usually tells you to narrow down to a specific market, but I wanted to reach out to a wide market. 5. Diocese: Proposed Abortion, Women’s Health Site Too Close to School -

The Catholic Diocese of Memphis says the proposed new location for Planned Parenthood on Madison Avenue is too close to its high school.

The Rev. Michael P. Joyce, chancellor for the diocese, wrote a letter to the Tennessee Health Services and Development Agency opposing the application that Planned Parenthood of Greater Memphis Region has filed to relocate from 1407 Union Ave. to 1750 Madison. The board for the state agency is scheduled to review the certificate of need application next Wednesday.
