WASHINGTON (AP) – A third straight month of weak hiring shows the U.S. economy is still struggling three years after the recession officially ended.
U.S. employers added just 80,000 jobs in June, and the unemployment rate was unchanged at 8.2 percent, the Labor Department said Friday.

WASHINGTON (AP) – Regulators must better understand threats to the financial system to be able to prevent another crisis, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke acknowledged Thursday.
"These are difficult challenges, but if we are to avoid a repeat of the crisis and its economic consequences, these challenges must be met," Bernanke said in a speech to a banking conference in Chicago.
