ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) – You can feel the spirit of George Eastman in Antonio Perez's office.

A picture of Eastman, who founded Kodak in 1880, sits among the current CEO's collection of family photos. The outer areas of Perez's office, built and first inhabited by Eastman about a century ago, include some of Kodak's Oscar and Emmy awards, along with a collection of historic photos. A large portrait of Eastman, who died in 1932, hangs near the entrance.

NEW YORK (AP) – Kodak said Friday that it plans to stop selling consumer inkjet printers and will eliminate 200 more jobs than previously projected as it requested more time to submit its framework for emerging from bankruptcy protection.

8. Dow Breaks Through 12,000, First Time Since 2008 -

NEW YORK (AP) — The Dow Jones industrial average broke through 12,000 for the first time in two and half years Wednesday but edged lower in afternoon trading.

Investors were encouraged by President Barack Obama's call to overhaul taxes on businesses and a jump in new home sales in December. The gains were held back by weak profit forecasts from Boeing Co., Xerox Corp. and other big names.

WASHINGTON (AP) – The U.S. economy shrank at a 3.8 percent pace at the end of 2008, the worst showing in a quarter-century, as the deepening recession forced consumers and businesses to throttle back spending.

12. Circuit City Files for Bankruptcy Protection -

One week after announcing it would close 155 of its stores, including two in the Memphis area, Circuit City Stores Inc. reported Monday that it had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
