ATLANTA (AP) - A particularly thorny issue for Delta Air Lines Inc. in its talks with United Airlines and Northwest Airlines about a combination with one of the carriers is where the merged company would be based and what it would be called, industry observers say.

90. Merger Math: Northwest Could Face $215M Penalty if it Moves Headquarters Out of Minnesota -

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - If another carrier combines with Northwest Airlines, where would the duo be based? The answer could be worth $215 million.

Northwest stands to lose that much in rebates and discounts at the Minneapolis airport if it doesn't live up to written commitments to keep a hub and headquarters here. That complicates the already tricky calculations as Northwest looks into a potential merger. It could also be forced into early repayment of a $245 million bond.

91. Stephanie Nichols Named PRSA Professional of the Year -

The Memphis chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) honored Stephanie Wilson Nichols as its 2006 Professional of the Year during the 15th annual VOX Awards Gala. This is the second time Nichols has received the award. The first time was in 2000. She served as the VOX Awards committee chair this year, and in 2005 was the chapter president. She also assisted the VOX committee in 2005. Nichols has earned and maintained her PRSA Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) designation since 2000 and has been an active member of PRSA since 1993.

92. State Supreme Court Appointment Process Up for Debate -

The Tennessee Supreme Court is expected to issue a ruling any day that could clear the way for the appointment of a fifth justice to the state's highest court. The seat has been vacant since the fall.

Brad Carmony has been named Newcomer of the Year in the 2006 MPACT Maker Awards. The award recognizes individuals who have lived in Memphis for a short time, but who have made significant contributions to the community. Carmony is the public relations manager at inferno. He also serves on the regional advisory board of the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association of Tennessee, the Exchange Club Family Center's Gala Committee and as a member of the Shelby County Humane Society's Pet Set organization.
